The Chinese government has made no secret over the past year about its plan to go to any extremes necessary to fully block the casinos from accessing Chinese players in the future. What was once just positioned as a filter that would really mainly block out the online casinos is now being called a necessary step for the Chinese government to block out all hostile foreign internet influences that are entering the country via the internet. That is a pretty fancy way of saying that any and all content that the government deems inappropriate will be completely censored out of the Chinese internet. The Chinese government prefers to control all of the news information that the public is able to access and consume and anything anti-China will certainly be nixed by the content filters.

The decision to block online casinos has been a long time coming but China is taking the planned censorship way to far by blocking all controversial content at the ISP level.
